p7zip-rar software package provides non-free rar module for p7zip, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install p7zip-rar
p7zip-rar is installed in your system.
Make ensure the p7zip-rar package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep p7zip-rar *
You will get with p7zip-rar package name, version, architecture and description in a table
